Referees (or officials) keep soccer safe, fair, and fun. They enforce the rules, control the match, monitor safety, and keep games flowing properly. Many of our referees are soccer players themselves, and take on the role as one of their first paying positions.
Referees must be at least 12 years old to register.
Pay starts at minimum wage, increasing with every two seasons of experience.
Referees are trained and knowledgeable about the game, but they are also (usually) kids who are doing their best and gaining experience in real time. Be kind and supportive and always follow the Code of Conduct when interacting with them.
Ref Clinics are held prior to each season, free of charge, with both theory and practical components. These clinics are hosted by Regina Interzone and details are communicated through our local Ref Coordinator.
